I am Medusa, Protector of Women's Mysteries, Guardian of the secrets of the Divine Feminine. My name means "sovereign female wisdom" so it is no big shock that the patriarchy which told my story demonized me. For time immemorial, the skin-shedding serpent has been a totem of regeneration and the immortal cycle of life, and women have traditionally identified with this creature due to their own menstrual-cyclical shedding. No wonder, then, that patriarchal tales habitually vilify the strong women who embody our most sacred mysteries by associating us with the much-maligned snake. I stand tall and wear my snakes proudly, as emblems of the Female Mysteries I guard so fiercely. Men may tell tales of beheading me, of silencing the wisdom of women forever, but tales they will remain. We reclaim our power and refuse to be dominated!

Medusa's body is the color of stone, her necklace is coils of  reflective silver beads. Her crowning glory is a hand-spun, hand-dyed mass of "serpents."

11" Medusa is $65

6" Medusa is $37 (and may be made out of a slightly different fabric)

Because of her size and the increase in postage rates for larger-dimension packages, there may be a higher postage fee for this 11" doll.
