I am Pele, Goddess of Fire and Volcanoes, Goddess of Transformation. I am still very much alive and honored today by the Pacific Islanders who recognize the power of Change. Change can be many times be subtle, but sometimes more drastic change is what's needed. Look to me during your times of upheaval, your own eruptions, to recognize that growth and renewal can come from what appears to be disaster. Use your own power to build, not destroy!

6-inch Pele

My husband brought home these beautiful flowers and I just had to take a picture with Pele!!
Too perfect!
This Pele was designed by my clever daughter (age six at the time), her first doll design! She chose the brown body to be like the mountain of a volcano, and she asked me to create Pele's arms turning up and outward, instead of inward like the other Goddess dolls, to allow for the lava to flow out of the mountain, her gift to the world. Pele's hair is the reds, oranges, and yellows of molten lava, and She appears to be a volcano in the midst of Transition. Her necklace is of red jasper.

The whole Pele space looked like this; the artwork on the wall is actually a
copper Hawaiian petroglyph for "family" which we bought in Kauai about 10 years ago!
