 CPSIA Compliance:
All of the components I use on my dolls are CPSIA-compliant. I have removed questionable items (like some of the buttons I used on early versions of Thetis, for example) from my stash of supplies so there will be no issue. My dolls are made from dyed or undyed textiles, yarn, wood and semiprecious stones, all allowable under the CPSIA legislation. For more information on this, see page 7 of this link.
Some dolls (like Changing Woman and Hera Chera) use fabric that may be questionable under these guidelines, and I have warnings on those pages that those particular dolls are not intended for children under the age of 12.

Ordering / FAQ

Orders placed now will be in the July 2011 basket.

---------------------

All of my wares are handmade by me, one at a time. This allows for a lot of attention to detail, and also provides the opportunity for you to make special requests. No two dolls are ever exactly the same; I do my best to re-create the photographs you see on the site, but sometimes I am unable to obtain an exact fabric or yarn and I make substitutions. You will always have a one-of-a-kind Goddess!

Q: How do I order?
A: Please just send me an email with the details of your request. For dolls, you can either order them by name, if you like the ones you already see on the site, or customize one for yourself. In this case, I will ask you what size, overall body color, and what embroidery, if any, you desire. You can also customize skin, eye, and hair colors. My email is kelli@dancinggoddessdolls.com

Q: How much extra do you charge for custom orders?
A: I don't charge an extra fee for making custom dolls. My pricing is based on doll complexity and/or expense of particular adornments. Most 11" dolls are $55-65, most 6" dolls are $30-35, and pocket dolls are almost always $16.

Almost every doll can be made in any size or any color; if you like the adornments of one doll but the color of a different one, feel free to mix and match and make your own personal Goddess. Nearly any embroidery you see on the site can be used on a doll, and if you have a request for an embroidery you DON'T see yet, I can usually find or make one. Please be aware that the pocket dolls can only handle a 1-inch embroidery, so options are more limited for that size.

As with the dolls, the embroidered quilts, gifts and toys are all made to order, so you can request color schemes really easily. I love working with people to fulfill these special requests and make a product that is unique and truly individual.

Also inquire about having lavender or other herbs added to your doll’s stuffing! Some people also send me locks of hair or special stones to include inside the doll. Each doll comes with a card on which you will find her name and story; if you'd like me to rename your Goddess for you, please feel free to ask! (For example, you'd rather have Titania called Aine, or Hestia called Vesta, etc.)

Q: How do I pay?
A: Aside from my Etsy shop, I don't have a shopping cart set up because I don't like the impersonal nature of having a cart. For my craft specifically, a majority of my customers specialize their orders, so working through email seems like the best fit. I prefer to use Paypal, but I do accept checks or money orders. If you send a check, I will wait until the check clears before sending your package. For international orders, I only accept Paypal, which does the currency conversion for free (my bank can't seem to handle an international money order for less than a $25 fee, which is ridiculous).

Q: When will my doll be ready?
A: Turnaround is usually 6-8 weeks. At the top of this page, I try keep you updated as to where I am in my order schedule, which is queue-based. As my littlest children get older I may be able to creep back to the 2-week turnaround I had in the past, lol.

Q: Do you do wholesale?
A: Because nothing I make is mass produced, I do not do wholesale, but I do offer generous discounts for bulk orders.

For updates about my schedule and to learn about my Sabbat giveaways (I give away free dolls and altar cloths 8 times a year!), be sure to join my (very low-volume, announcement-only) mailing list!
